Beginners courses

Beginners courses are run three times a year and run for 6 sessions, you will start your paddling sport here unless you have already paddled before, during the beginners courses you will learn how to paddle forwards, backwards, turn, stop, basic support strokes and escape from your kayak in the event of a capsize. You do not need to become a full member at this point but you are welcome to if you wish. To join in one of the courses you will need to become a temporary member and pay for the course FORM DOWNLOAD, the courses are subject to availability.

You will need to turn up with at least a wetsuit, old trainers / wetsuit boots, a windproof top and gloves if you wish, Kayak, Buoyancy Aid, Helmet and Paddle will be provided. If you are in doubt or wish to find out more please ask for more information before booking your beginners course. After the course has finished you are welcome to pay for a full membership and join the regular training sessions on Thursday evenings which are included in your membership but are subject to availability of equipment, coaches and conditions on the day, this training is provided throughout the summer season.
